Liverpool have issued 432 lifetime bans and 115 indefinite suspensions after police seized more than £1.2m in assets linked to illegal ticket selling. The action followed a joint operation between the club and Merseyside Police targeting organised touting activity.
According to the supplied report, the police work focused on suspected laundering of money made from illicit ticket sales, while Liverpool continued enforcement against touting both online and at matches. The seized money was divided between Merseyside Police and the Home Office.
The scale of the club’s wider ticketing checks is notable: Liverpool previously shut down 145,000 ticket accounts over two years, and in the latest season reviewed almost 700,000 registrations. Of those, 67,663 suspected fake accounts were blocked or cancelled, while 121,379 remained under investigation.
Liverpool also cancelled 3,847 tickets linked to suspicious buying activity in the 2025-26 season and returned them to general admission sale. Matchday checks have also increased, with around 300 targeted stops per home game at Anfield, plus similar measures at away fixtures in domestic and European competition.
