Aston Villa are in talks with Chelsea over a move for Alejandro Garnacho. The current proposal is understood to involve a possible loan, but Chelsea want any agreement to include a route toward a permanent transfer.
Chelsea are reportedly prepared to sell the winger for £42.7m (€50m) in this window. Roma and clubs in the Saudi Pro League are also said to be interested, while Garnacho has not returned to pre-season training as he waits for his future to be resolved.
For Villa, the question is not just cost but fit. Garnacho played 1,217 Premier League minutes across 25 appearances last season and recorded five goal involvements, a lower rate than Morgan Rogers and Emiliano Buendia managed from similar left-sided roles in the source analysis.
The talks also sit against a wider Chelsea sales picture after the clubs negotiated a £117m British record fee for Morgan Rogers moving the other way. Until either club confirms terms, this remains an active negotiation rather than a completed transfer.
