Tolu Arokodare caused a Wolves training session to be called off after refusing to leave the pitch. The striker is also set to miss the club’s friendly at Maidenhead United as the situation around his future continues.
According to the supplied BBC Sport report, Arokodare sat down during the session and wanted Wolves to allow a move to Fiorentina. Wolves are reported to have turned down a Fiorentina offer while accepting a bid from Trabzonspor, leaving the player’s next step unresolved.
The episode gives new head coach Cesar Peixoto an immediate squad-management issue during pre-season. Peixoto only recently arrived from Gil Vicente after replacing Rob Edwards, and Wolves are trying to reset after finishing bottom of the Premier League and being relegated.
Arokodare joined from Genk for £24m last summer but scored three league goals in that campaign. The latest incident also follows a previous disciplinary matter in April involving a confrontation with young forward Mateus Mane.
